With various successful drops in the Foamposite Pro world, including the highly sought after multi-tonal Yeezy release, it was time to bring back a classic. With the design not being seen since 2002, Nike has brought back its bright red and black colour way, incorporating the staple combination into the unique style. Changing up the look slightly from the 2002 design, by creating a University Red base rather than Varsity Red, we’re confronted with a bold trainer with a finished off with a silky metallic sheen.

With few changes made from the original 2002 release, there’s a traditional edge to this modern design, but with some additions keeping the look fresh. Changing the original Varsity Red to a bright University Red, and replacing the nubuck eyestays with leather ones creates differences that only the truest Nike fans would recognise.
Along side these changes are the classic design elements that has made the Nike Foamposite Pro such a popular model, with the clean durable style that keeps you protected from rain, wind and harsh sunlight. History
Introduced in 1997, Nike showcased its foamposite technology in two unique trainers – the Nike Air Foamposite One, and the Nike Air Foamposite Pro. Nike was inspired by none other than the humble beetle, with the unique design helping to form the Foamposite’s aerodynamic features.
Despite, or maybe because of, this unconventional inspiration, many investors as well as designers assumed the model would never come to fruition. However despite poor sales at first, the shoes soon became one of the top selling models, especially with the variety of colour ways later released.
