The Air Jordan XIII has been given a lot of reworkings this year— we saw the return of the grey toe as it should have been done, a slightly cheap looking 3M edition and this low-key new makeup that reminds us of the playoff Black/True Red/Whites from 1998 and the other Black/True Reds from that same year. It’s a mix of both versions that looks like an MJ player sample we may or may not have seen in a Japanese publication back in the day (that magazine has disappeared in a regrettable loft clear out, or maybe we dreamt the whole thing). Of all the great Jordans, the 13 has so much scope for new team colourways that we’re surprised that something this low-key is necessary, but those red panther paw pods look decent. We still prefer this silhouette with 3M and mesh, but the quality is unexpectedly on point in these hit-or-miss days, despite some slight switches to that shape with every retro. The Black/Gym Red Jordan XIII will be online tomorrow.
