big ben london

London is one of the most-visited cities in the world, and it’s not hard to see why. From pub crawls and speed boat tours to beer tasting and go-karting, there’s no shortage of things to do in London for friends who want to have a good time.

Many people prefer to access the capital by rail. Getting first-class seats to London is a great way to kick start the trip with a bit of a treat.

Where to eat as a group – food markets and street food

Eating good grub has an important place in any guys’ weekend. There are a couple of particularly great spots for groups:

  1. Southbank Centre food market: Take the tube to Waterloo or Embankment during the weekend and treat yourselves to some exceptional street food. There are Korean, Thai, Polish, Indian and Ethiopian dishes. There’s also some tasty Shawarma and Sicilian cuisine.
  1. Camden Market: For a food market on a big scale with maximum choice, head down to Camden. It’s the largest food market in London and has plenty of seating space. Enjoy your international cuisine at the stall itself of while basking in the social atmosphere by the canal.

Group activities in London

Get the most out of your trip with your mates. Plan one or two fun activities for the daytime. A few things you can try are:

  1. River cruise: There are several boats you can take together on the Thames. You can take a boat for the guided tour experience, while also benefiting from a much more interesting way to get around London than the tube! The boats frequently stop at areas of interest such as Westminster and Greenwich.
  2. Go karting: There are plenty of amazing go-karting venues in London. Why not try out Capital Karts near Canary Wharf or the completely electric go-karting experience in Wandsworth?
  3. Go Ape at Battersea: A treetop experience in London itself? Head to Battersea Park and this is exactly what you’ll find! Challenge yourselves with this exhilarating high rope course.

Enjoy the nightlife

London has some of the best nightlife in Europe, so now is your chance to take advantage of it.

There are plenty of excellent craft beer places, like The Morpeth Arms in Westminster. Craft ales, lagers and stouts are a particular speciality here.

There are some old pubs dating back centuries in London that you’ll love. Check out The Spaniard’s Inn in Hampstead, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street and The George Inn at London Bridge.

Head to Shoreditch for some of London’s liveliest and quirkiest bars. There are beach bars, basement bars and there’s even a ballpit bar

See a football game

Some of the biggest football clubs in the world are based in London. Why not watch a football game from the home stadium of Chelsea, Tottenham or Arsenal? With so much to see and do in London, there’s no reason why you and your mates can’t have the time of your life!
