A brand that is steeped in history, Converse has been a footawear favourite for over 100 years. Founded in 1908 in Malden, Massachusetts Marquis Mills, Converse started making rubber soled shoes for men, women and children to last them the harsh winters.

In 1915 Converse started making shoes for tennis players and probably the most famous pair the ‘Chuck Taylors’ was created when basketball player Charles H. “Chuck” Taylor came into the Converse offices complaining of sore feet, the rest, as they say, is history.

I think everyone remembers their first pair of Converse, you either went black and white (the classic) or you had an all white pair, and you were loyal to your pair.

Aside from their neutral tones, Converse have brought out this burgundy pair, and this rather jazzy number with Campbell’s Soup design making for a playful and unique look, rather than the contemporary designs that we are used too.
