The plain T-shirt is something that all of us own; no matter what colour the T-shirt is, you can wear them every day and look effortlessly stylish. This style guide will direct you to the best plain T-shirts for men that we have for you right now.
Best T-shirts For Men
A plain T-shirt is something that we can all go back to if our wardrobe choices are limited. We’ve all been there, looking at our wardrobes and wondering what we’re going to throw on that day. However, what many of us don’t realise is that we’re creatures of familiarity – we always revert back to the good old plain tee for something to wear. Stylish, simplistic and clean-cut, we can all rely on the plain tee to see us through the day. Let’s take a look at some of the best plain T-shirts to style this year.
Crew Neck
The crew neck tee is one of the most classic fits. We all own or have owned one at some point in our lives as they are just so versatile. This was most notably popularised during the 1950s when stars such as James Dean, Marlon Brando and Elvis Presley sported them with a pair of raw denim jeans and loafers.
The best plain white T-shirts are made out of durable, breathable materials, so try and get one in a quality material such as 100% cotton. These might cost you a little bit extra than a cotton blend T-shirt, but the high quality and last of wear should more than make up for it.

Longline
The longline T-shirt is something of a modern interpretation of the plain tee. It has come to light in various style genres as the tee to go for if you’re after something a little alternative. With this tee being more trend lead than anything else, it gives you something a little different to your look without going overboard or too out there.
Try wearing a longline tee with a pair of slim-fitted black jeans and a pair of black or white trainers. To heighten the look a little bit more, throw over a bomber jacket such as one of our favourites from Alpha Industries – bang on trend and it will keep you warm well into spring. If there is one thing we would say about the longline T-shirts, it’s that this style really won’t suit everybody. If you are a shorter guy, a longline T-shirt will shorten the illusion of your body even more – not ideal. Equally, if you wear high top trainers with a longline T-shirt, you risk making your legs look shorter too.

O-Neck
A little bit different to the crew-neck T-shirt, the O-neck T-shirt is a cut that most of us adopt when we’re a touch older. With the neck hole cut a little deeper and rounder, it sits on your torso offering a little more flesh than usual.
Team this O-neck T-shirt with a pair of wider legged trousers and some white trainers and you’ll have a great, modern look. Throw on an overcoat or Mac (as this season almost demands it) and you’ll have a cracking, simple outfit for this season.

Colour T-shirts
The coloured tee is something that many of us wouldn’t think of wearing. At this time of year, a lot of men don’t want to be wearing bright colours or standing out, but we are here to tell you otherwise. A vibrant colour can make a nice change when picking out a plain tee. Just make sure you don’t let the colour put you off – you can easily team a coloured T-shirt with a pair of grey trousers if you want to maintain a toned down outfit.
If the idea of a brightly coloured T-shirt scares you, you could wear a toned down coloured tee instead. Why not go for a pale blue or pink T-shirt which, when worn with jeans or trousers, will every so slightly lift your outfit making it less one-dimensional. Worn with a pair of white slip-on trainers, such as a pair of Vans, you can have a casual look that can work for the office or simply during the day.

Best Plain T-shirts for Men
- The best men’s T-shirts are simple, perfectly fitted and versatile. Try and go for a high-quality T-shirt as that will last you much longer. Aim for 100% cotton over a cotton blend.
- Crew neck: This design is an easy, flattering shape that can work with a whole range of body shapes. When you’re unsure of a neckline to go for, this is always your safest bet.
- Long line T-shirts: These give a unique look that’s great for tall guys. If you’re on the shorter side, it’s worth sticking to a regular length T-shirt instead.
- O-neck: These provide a deeper shape, yet similar vibe, to the crew neck. Pair this T-shirt with some dad jeans for a relaxed outfit.
- Colour T-shirts shouldn’t ever be written off. You don’t have to go for anything too bold; a toned down blue or pink T-shirt looks great with a pair of grey trousers.
