Admittedly, when it comes to accessories for men, they don’t really have as much choice as women. Men don’t have the endless amounts of options and styles out there to choose from. You have to make do with what is available. The great thing is even though there are a limited amount of options, you can then make those the best that they can be. Use them to highlight and add style to your everyday outfits.
Men’s Wallets
Brands like Herschel have been making and manufacturing great accessories for almost 10 years, meaning they know a thing or two about wallets. The three below are probably our favorites and come in a variety of colors and styles. If you’re after something that’s going to be easy to slip into a pair of jeans then we’d recommend the Herschel Johnny Wallet, £24. It’s zipped meaning it’s secure and can carry all your essentials, whilst being easy enough to expand and hold all your cash. The multi-purpose nature means that it’s great for the office or for a night out with the boys.
Men’s Bags
Alongside the wallet, a bag is a perfect place to store all of your important items in. Never again will you find yourself without that all-important phone charger or forget your trainers on a day where you’ve planned to head to the gym. Men’s messenger bags, men’s satchel bags, men’s rucksacks, and men’s travel bags are all great options.
Are you into technology and hate to be parted from your laptop? If you are, investing in a decent bag is imperative. You may want to try out a backpack if you have items that need to be protected. However, don’t write off carrying a holdall for a leather bag too. They’ve got more than enough space to carry your laptop, as well as all your other daily essentials.
Brands like Porter & Yoshida, Sandqvist, and Eastpak have an array of bags that will fit any guy’s needs. The Best Belts
The belt may seem like an essential no matter what the time of year, it’s good to have a few for different occasions. Woven belts are perfect for the warmer months as they add a casual look to any outfit whilst still giving you a slightly formal edge to your style.
We’d suggest going for a smooth leather number if you’re more classically inclined. These will work better for more formal situations. One rule that stress is that you must always match your belt with the color of your shoes. If you’re wearing a brown belt, wear brown shoes, and the same if you’re wearing a black belt.

Sunglasses are cool accessories for men. It has been scientifically proven that sunglasses make you look at least 60% cooler. Okay, perhaps it hasn’t been scientifically proven, but Robert Downey Jr and Brad Pitt have both said similar things and they’re not doing too bad for themselves.

They are a little more expensive but trust us, you will definitely be able to tell the difference. Coming in a variety of styles, and at various price points, Larsson & Jennings will definitely have something for you.
Hats
A hat or cap, or snapback hat are great ways to introduce a bit of color and texture to your style. Of course, there are a plethora of choices out there when it comes to headgear, but what we can all agree on is that the classic styles always seem to do better.
The black beanie hat from The North Face is a spot-on option this season. The simple and classic design of the beanie makes for a cracking piece to own. If you like simple, minimal styles a beanie is great as they’re not overwhelming in pattern or color.
Many of you will probably be thinking that a beanie is just far too informal and scruffy looking, so, that’s where the trusty cap comes in. Caps are a great alternative to snapback hats and will take you out of 2011 and into 2017 instantly.
The Best Accessories for Men
- Wallet – A classic zip-around wallet will work perfectly for every day and for every man.
- Bag – Think of what you’ll be using it for and choose accordingly.
- Belt – Think of what outfits you’ll be pairing it with and always match the color to your shoes.
- Sunglasses – Think of your face shape and try a few pairs on so you get the right pair.
- Watches – Think of where you’ll be wearing one and invest accordingly.
- Hat – Again, your head shape will determine what will suit you, so try a few out before you invest.
On That Note
Accessories are a great way of introducing color, detail, and texture to your look. It doesn’t matter what your style preferences are, you can always find something to add on or have on your person at all times to heighten and accentuate any look. Try a pair of sunglasses or a hat for a more full-on approach. Stick with classic styles and colors so you don’t date your look easily. Pick a versatile color, such as black or navy, so that they’ll work with most things in your wardrobe. No matter what you choose, always make sure you pick your cool men’s accessories carefully and wear them in style.
